Inbox ZeroJuly 26, 2007
I’ve been keeping my e-mail inbox at zero for a couple of years now. But while watching Merlin’s Inbox Zero talk at Google, I decided to also max-simplify the mailboxes I use to archive my messages. I used to have a whole Mail window-height worth of small-icon mailboxes for filing away every category of message I get. Now I have half of that, even using large icons:
Everything that doesn’t get auto-filed into the Automation or the Lists folders, I drop into the Archive when I’m done with it. If I need to find something in there, then sorting, filtering, searching, and smart mailboxes should be quite sufficient. I feel lighter already.
