Jumsoft Doesn't CareJanuary 15, 2007
A while back I posted about Jumsoft Money and how great it is, especially compared to the still-buggy Cha-Ching. While I was still in the Money trial period, I wrote a couple of friendly support e-mails to Jumsoft, offering some feedback and asking for some help with features that didn’t seem to work exactly right. By the time my trial was over, two weeks later, I still hadn’t heard back. I wrote in again, asking if my messages had been received at all. That was several weeks ago, and still nothing has come back to me.
I just did a search and found a bunch of people complaining about Jumsoft and their products, saying that the developers simply do not respond to support requests and are totally silent about bugs in their products that obliterate other apps’ data.
The savage bugginess of Cha-Ching and the apathy of Jumsoft caused me to stop keeping a budget altogether. I see that Cha-Ching 0.5 just came out; there’s still no “new transaction” command and focus rings still don’t draw properly, but maybe I can live with it. At least the guys at Midnight Apps seem excited about working with their customers and making a good product.
I think the app I really need is some future version of OmniOutliner. If I could just have items that live in multiple sections, or smart groups, I’d be set.
