Toume Kei is a woman

I was just checking up on the Wikipedia page for 冬目景, my favorite comic artist since I lived in Japan 7 years ago. I have 22 of her books. A huge chunk of my Japanese skill comes from Sing “Yesterday” For Me.

Uh, this person is a woman. I have always assumed that… she (it is weird to type that) was a man, and nothing ever indicated otherwise. She never includes self-portraits in her comics, and her art style is so unique and divergent from the standard male and female art styles in Japanese comics. This guy I’ve been idolizing all these years is no guy at all! Now I have to go back and reread all of her stories with my new knowledge. This is weird.
